Cameron Diaz And Benji Madden Marry In LA

Drew Barrymore was a bridesmaid for the actress in a ceremony which took place in the garden of the couple's mansion.

Hollywood star Cameron Diaz and rocker Benji Madden have married in an "intimate" ceremony at their home in Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old actress and the Good Charlotte musician, 35, had been dating for eight months and Diaz was seen wearing an engagement ring over Christmas.

"We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends," the couple told People magazine.

Their representative said the couple tied the knot at their home with the reception taking place in a tent in the grounds.

Nicole Richie, who is married to Madden's twin brother Joel, played cupid in the romance.

Guests at the party included Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon, while Diaz's Charlie's Angels co-star Drew Barrymore was a bridesmaid and Richie's son Sparrow a ring bearer.

Diaz has previously told how she has never felt any pressure to marry, saying it is not natural to be monogamous.

She told InStyle magazine: "A lot of people chase after it because they've been told 'This equals happiness'. They chase it, they get it, and they find out 'Why did I think this was going to make me happy? I'm miserable!'

"I don't know if anyone is really naturally monogamous. We all have the same instincts as animals. But we live in a society where it's been ingrained in us to do these things."

Diaz's former partners include Justin Timberlake, Jared Leto and baseball star Alex Rodriguez, while Madden was previously linked to hotel heiress Paris Hilton.
